Introducing Focus Score™ with EndeavorOTC™ for adults with ADHD

Is my focus better than last week? There’s an app for that!

There are a lot of ways to treat and manage ADHD; however many options rely on gradual, subtle improvements, which can make it hard to understand if you’ve made progress. Often, the inability to understand or see progress is why we abandon a new routine or strategy. This is a common pattern in fitness routines or going to the gym: if someone does not see visible changes in their body or fitness level despite their efforts, they are likely to become frustrated and abandon that approach, even though subtle changes toward improved health may already be happening in their body.

EndeavorOTC is a new treatment option for adults with ADHD that can improve the brain’s mental processes related to inattention and ADHD symptoms in addition to, or without the need for, medication. However, much like going to the gym, this treatment requires commitment to regular usage and at least four to six weeks of initial treatment to see results. And also much like going to the gym, with EndeavorOTC you are subtly strengthening underlying mental processes for attention in some cases before you see or feel results in daily life. If you’ve started treatment, your attention has been handling increasingly challenging tasks—and you deserve to see that progress. That’s why we're introducing Focus Score with EndeavorOTC – a groundbreaking personalized metric that allows you to track your attention improvement in this ADHD treatment.

Understanding the ADHD Brain: The Focus Score Advantage

For those with ADHD, the brain can work a little differently, making it harder to maintain attention and ignore distractions. EndeavorOTC was specifically designed to engage the brain processes responsible for attention and focus while tailoring the difficulty in real time  to strengthen those processes at a constantly personalized challenge-level. Research tells us that we have to keep things challenging in order to produce meaningful changes in your brain; constant success is not where improvement happens, improvement happens by overcoming what was previously a failure. However, none of us, especially those with ADHD, actively seek experiences where we fail, and we recognize that this level of challenge can be demotivating without some indication that we are progressing. Focus Score is the tool now only available in EndeavorOTC that lets you track how you are progressing towards your goal. For many, this will mean seeing progress regardless of how successful you may feel in your attempts to capture “the mystic creature” (IYKYK). We heard from patients and practitioners that a tool like Focus Score would be a game-changer to help see changes in attention that might not otherwise be obvious.

How Does Focus Score Work?

The concept behind Focus Score is simple yet powerful. At the beginning of your EndeavorOTC treatment journey, you'll receive a personalized baseline Focus Score which represents how quickly and accurately you can complete a task despite distractions present during gameplay. You will also receive a personalized, target Focus Score which serves as your goal for your initial course of treatment.

Your Focus Score, ranging from 0 to 100, is calculated exclusively from your treatment using gameplay mission data. It combines three crucial elements of mission performance:

  •  Navigating ability

  •  Speed in collecting targets

  •  Accuracy in selecting targets

These specific aspects of treatment were selected because we know from cognitive neuroscience that each of the skills they build are foundational to your ability to maintain attention.

The Path to Progress: Achieving Your Target Focus Score

You might be wondering, "What's the magic number I need to reach?" Well, based on in-depth analysis of data from our adult clinical trial participants, we've found that the typical Focus Score improvement falls between 12 to 34 points. The exact increase depends on several factors, including your starting Focus Score or "baseline." But here's the good news: Reaching this target is absolutely achievable, and it can get better from there. For the vast majority of people, you’ll still have room to improve even after you hit your target Focus Score, and that continued improvement should come with benefits to your overall cognitive abilities as well as ADHD symptom management.

Why Trust Focus Score?

The validity of a metric like Focus Score is paramount. That's why we meticulously analyzed how individual Focus Scores were related to key results from our clinical trial participants. Our goal was to understand how well Focus Score relates to real-world clinical outcomes. Here’s what we found: Focus Score improvements were directly related to improvement in ADHD-related symptoms and overall quality of life—things like being able to complete tasks or keep track of important items like your wallet and keys. So, rest assured, Focus Score is backed by scientific evidence and can help you understand how your focus is changing throughout treatment with EndeavorOTC.

Get Ready for a Focused Future!
